Tesla Roadster

Postby joggiwagga on Thu Nov 05, 2009 12:05 pm

I'd first heard of the Tesla Roadster a few years ago, I think while they were still under development, remember being intrigued, then promptly forgetting what the hell the names were except "roadster" were involved... and really, that's not all that helpful.

Came across a write up of a test drive on BoingBoing
today, and was reminded of the car. It's definately different.

It's completely electric, good speed, good acceleration, and single speed transmission. As I said, its a different car. Check out the website for the car, they've got the details and specs.

I'd rather neither fuck nor fuck in a smart car. It'd be worse than fucking in the back of a volkswagen.

isaw a video on these at my school. i thought it used an induction motor as the drive train that would eliminate a need for a transmissioni at all. just 12 batteries, frame, wheels and a computer to control it all. fast as hell and nicer than any other "green" car i have seen.

still gets better mileage than any other car of similar displacement (1100cc) and kicks Ferraris in the bawlz and laughs. then again im not concerned about gas mileage in a 4 cyl car. if i have a v8 then i might get concerned.
